Country Dancing

The Country Dancing Group meet from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm usually on the fourth Monday of the month at Wrockwardine Village Hall, 1 Station Rd, Wrockwardine, Telford TF6 5DZ. There is a car park that can be accessed from an entrance next to the hall. {The group meets on the fourth or fifth Monday of each month, depending on convenience, with no meetings in December and August.}

All Wellington Shropshire U3A members are welcome and it is possible to come along up to a couple of meetings to sample what we do, before joining the U3A. Each meeting we will try a number of different dances, depending on how many attend, and some will be vigorous, and others more elegant and slow, so if you wish to sit out some of the dances, that will be fine. We will walk through the dances, and call them as we dance, so no experience is necessary (just a willingness to have some fun!).

We are hope that each meeting will be fun and an enjoyable social event, in a positive supportive atmosphere.

If anyone would like to instruct/call any of the dances, you would be very welcome to do this (please just let Graham know).

Graham has done some "calling" for Barn Dance/Ceildh/Circle dances and it is envisaged that each meeting we would dance some dances covered in earlier meetings and introduce another 1 or 2 new dances. No experience is necessary, as we will walk through each dance, and there will be instructions called out at pertinent times. We will be dancing to recorded music on CDs or mp3 files.

There will be a short refreshment break, mid way through the session.
